On May 23, 2026, the election congress for the new term of the Interventional Medicine Branch of the Sichuan International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (hereinafter referred to as the Sichuan Medical Association) was successfully held in Chengdu. Interventional medicine experts from major hospitals across the province gathered to witness the establishment of the Branch’s new Executive Committee. Professor Liao Zhengyin, a leading expert and academic mentor from the Department of Interventional Medicine at UNI-ASIA Cancer Hospital Chengdu, with his profound academic background and outstanding reputation and influence in the profession, was elected Vice Chair of the Branch’s second term. This is not only recognition of Professor Liao Zhengyin’s remarkable achievements and contributions, but also an affirmation and high appraisal of the hospital’s comprehensive professional capabilities and its increasingly elevated status in the field of interventional medicine.

Professor Liao Zhengyin has many years of experience in interventional diagnosis and treatment, and has accumulated extensive expertise in interventional oncology, vascular intervention, and general interventional procedures. In particular, he has strong expertise in minimally invasive treatment for complex and difficult cases. Always patient-centered, Professor Liao Zhengyin has continuously pursued and studied advanced interventional techniques, and has repeatedly participated in domestic and international academic conferences and exchange activities, contributing to the promotion of the application of advanced techniques in Sichuan Province.
Speaking after being elected Vice Chair of the Interventional Medicine Branch for its second term, Professor Liao Zhengyin said: “I would like to sincerely thank the Sichuan International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and my colleagues across the province for their trust in me. This is not only an honor, but also a tremendous responsibility. In the time ahead, I will leverage the role of the Branch to actively promote standardization in interventional medicine diagnosis and treatment, strengthen technical dissemination and the training of young talent. As a key specialty developed at UNI-ASIA Cancer Hospital Chengdu, the Department of Interventional Medicine, under the leadership of Professor Liao Zhengyin, has established a diagnosis and treatment system characterized by precise minimally invasive techniques. Each year, the department performs thousands of interventional procedures and has earned the trust and recognition of patients.
